Amanda Tse
Violinist. Teacher. Studio Owner.
A quick introduction…
Amanda first picked up a (tiny) violin at the age of 4, and is glad that she did. She studied with several inspiring teachers including Faina Krel and Janet Davies from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is influenced by methods such as the Suzuki method and the Alexander technique. She obtained her Licentiate Diploma in Violin (Performance and Music Theory) in Australia with Distinction. Additionally, she has thrived in the roles of soloist, concertmaster and section tutor with amateur and semi-professional orchestras across Australia, Asia and Europe and has played alongside renowned musicians such as James Morrison, Sumi Jo and Simon Tedeschi.
Amanda also enjoys sharing her love of violin and discovering its beauty, strength and grace with her students. You can also find her violin(s) in musical theatre, pop bands and improvised theatre … and also teaching and collaborating with all kinds of artists in her creative studio, ‘The Godown’.

Let’s collaborate.

Amanda is available as a freelance violinist to perform as a solo or chamber musician for concerts, recordings or corporate gigs/events/parties. She’s versatile - meaning, she can slot in to many different styles including classical, pop/rock band, electronic lines and pure improv. She’s played at venues at the Sydney Opera House, Esplanade in Singapore, City Hall in Hong Kong, the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam and countless other beautiful large and small venues, so put her anywhere with a violin and she will deliver, happily :)

Amana has a particular affinity for anyone curious or brave enough to learn the art of violin playing. She has taught students of all ages and levels, and has a deep understanding of what teaching tools can be useful for different students.

Amanda co-runs a gezellige creative space in Amsterdam with her better half and fellow musician Marcel. She sometimes uses the space to host her own lessons, but also rents out the space for rehearsals, recordings and for hosting intimate concerts/events. You can email Amanda directly or the studio for enquiries - and follow them on Instagram for events and fun stories :)
